The Benefits of Music for Babies, Toddlers and Preschool Aged Children

Language Development

Listening to music encourages babies, toddlers, pre-schoolers to develop their language skills by helping them recognise sounds and words more easily. TinyBeats offer repetition of songs each week to help babies, toddlers and children become familiar with tunes and vocabulary. We use specific words, phrases and actions to embed these important skills.

Cognitive Development

Playing musical instruments and listening to music can enhance cognitive abilities such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and memory retention. Listening to and engaging with rhythm helps activate key components in the brain, from an early age. Playing musical instruments can also help in learning new languages.

'Practicing a musical instrument will only help enhance those brain muscles that you need to acquire the new language faster and more intuitively.'

Emotional Development

Music has the power to evoke a range of emotions and can help children express themselves emotionally. It also promotes social development as children learn to work together in group music activities. At TinyBeats our music is specifically tailored to our lessons allowing your child to feel comfortable, content and familiar in their surroundings.

Physical Development

Dancing and moving to music helps develop gross and fine motor skills, coordination, and balance. Physical development plays a huge role in our classes, specifically BuddyBeats, where children are encouraged to follow simple instructions and actions. We also have elements of physical activity in our LittleBeats and BabyBeats classes through simple actions, yoga, tummy time and massage.

Improved Focus and Attention

Playing an instrument or listening to music attentively can improve focus and attention span, helping children to concentrate better in other areas of their lives. Our music is also tailored to improve these areas with different actions and notions to learn and anticipate what comes next.

Reduced Stress and Anxiety

Listening to soothing music can help calm and relax children, reducing stress and anxiety. This is why at TinyBeats we ensure we take time to relax and unwind at the end of every class. Giving little ones time to process, reflect and enjoy the class as a whole.

Early Music Exposure

Exposing children to music early on can create a lifelong love for music and cultivate a greater appreciation for different styles of music. Through our variety of themes, little ones are exposed to different genres and melodies, giving them the opportunity to explore their own preferences and develop their own likes and dislikes.
